Create Item

The Create Item page allows you to add new items to the inventory. You can add both medical and non-medical items, and provide all relevant details such as pricing, company, division, and other attributes. This page is divided into two sections depending on the type of item you are adding: Medicine or Non-Medical Item.

Item Type

  • Item Type: Choose between Medicine and Non-Medical Item*. This selection will determine the specific fields required to complete the form.

Common Fields

Regardless of the item type, the following fields are common:

  • Item Name*: Enter the name of the item.
  • SKU*: Enter the Stock Keeping Unit for the item.
  • Image: Upload an image of the item.
  • MRP: Enter the Maximum Retail Price of the item.
  • Purchase Price: Enter the price at which the item was purchased.
  • Selling Price: Enter the price at which the item will be sold.
  • Landing Cost: Enter the total cost of the item after including all expenses.
  • Weight*: Enter the weight of the item.
  • Use: Describe the use of the item.
  • Company: Select the company associated with the item from the dropdown.
  • Division: Select the division of the company to which the item belongs.
  • GST*: Select the applicable GST percentage from the dropdown.
  • HSN: Enter the Harmonized System of Nomenclature code for the item.
  • Sold Loose: Check this box if the item is sold in loose quantities.
  • Sold Online: Check this box if the item is available for sale online.

NOTE: Fields marked with * are mandatory.

Additional Fields for Medicine

If Medicine is selected as the item type, additional fields will appear:

  • Dosage Form: Enter the dosage form of the medicine (e.g., Tablet, Capsule, Syrup etc).
  • Strength: Enter the strength of the medicine (e.g., 500 mg).
  • Packing: Here we need to mention integer value as how many tablet or capsules are there in a strip or a pack. For Syrups, Jar of Powder etc this value should be kept 1. This value must be entered carefully as it will have direct inplication on rate (during sales) and stock (during purchase).
  • Batch Number: Enter the batch number of the medicine.
  • Expiry Date: Enter the expiration date of the medicine.
  • Prescription Required: Check this box if a prescription is required for the medicine.

If Non-Medical Item is selected as the item type, only the common fields mentioned above will be displayed.

Save Item

After filling in all the required fields, click the Save button to add the item to the inventory.

Create Item page allows efficient management of both medical and non-medical items, ensuring that all necessary details are captured for inventory and sales purposes.
